hello,

I upgraded to win2k a year or so ago. The other day I decided to look through some of the advanced security features. I didn't change anything because I always clicked on 'cancel' Now when I boot my computer it takes an extra 30-45 seconds to "apply security policy." Now this doesn't pose much problem as I never reboot my computer unless absolutely necessary, but I was wondering what exactly I need to do to get rid of this annoyance.

thankx

I think this could possibly be a bug in W2k, at least the way you describe it sounds close to what Microsoft says in Q248353 article. Check it out, and if what they says works, post here again.
