I don't see a section on forum specific to these devices. I am an Android guy. Due to some poor decision making on my part I am likely about to be "stuck with" some Apple products on my phone carrier for the next few years from a sub account that won't pay their bill. Their inaction has my carrier about to shut my line off in order to get paid.

I have made an offer to the individual to turn the devices over to me and that I would assume the bill. I mean, contractually speaking I am on the hook anyway, but am hoping they will be reasonable and I can just utilize the devices for a while. It's time for an upgrade anyway...not specifically that this is the way I want to go, but anyway.

I understand that with all the Apple stuff that you tie it to an Apple and icloud account (much like you would a Google account with Android) in order to get functionality and to tie the devices to each other, for instance so the watch will work with the phone and all that jazz. In order for me to be able to do so the prior owner will need to release those devices from their account, correct?
Is there a step by step walkthrough for the Apple ecosystem uninitiated to show how and what to look for in knowing this has been done?
If the person won't do so, there is really nothing that can be done by the carrier to make them available in spite of me being responsible for paying for them?

and lastly, if they won't release them I should report them stolen or something else to my carrier such that they cannot be used on another service?

Turn off activation lock on Apple Watch.

Remove iCloud from iPhone/iPad and reset device.

If they won't return the devices plus remove their iCloud account. Take them to small claims court to either get a judgement for them to return the devices properly or pay you their cost. Plus they may have to pay restitution for not paying their part of the bill. Perhaps the early cancellation fee too. So save voicemails, emails and text messages. Correspond by text or e-mail. Don't think of it as being harsh on them or ruining your relationship. They already did that to you when they abused your trust.

Couldn't say about reporting them lost or stolen...

Couldn't say about reporting them lost or stolen. It might work. Couldn't say about the legalities or how it would affect your case. As it is your contract. If they won't return them or pay. They are basically stolen. Although the courts may see it differently. That's more of an ask a lawyer question.

Credit cards are easy to get. If someone can't get a high interest credit card. There is a reason. If they can't afford an iPhone and fancy plan. There are $30-$40 Androids and simple, cheap prepaid plans.

Edit: While I love Tomshardware forums. MacRumors is a better forum for Apple related questions.
