Apps Not Connecting to Internet

So for some strange reason my Windows 8 apps can't connect to the internet. I can open up Chrome and go where ever I want and pinging websites from cmd isn't a problem, it's just the apps. I have tried troubleshooting but to no avail. Suggestions?

Check in you control panel/internet options, on the connection tab, LAN settings, make sure the "automatic detect proxy is checked.
