apu system no monitor signal

My new apu system starts well it seems, but doesn't get signal from the monitor. I have an a10 6800k on a gigabyte f2a85x-up4. I have a tr2 500w thermaltake psu. My screen is some Acer model. Please help

Do the fans spin? If they do, do they spin for a second and then stop or do they continue to spin?
Is the motherboard light on?

the fans spin and stay spinning. when i plugin the hdmi or vga cable to the monitor it says no signal, but when i take it out it says that there is no cable connected. which motherboard light? it turns on the lights that say that the computer is on
