APU vs GPU

A10-7850k provides 48+ FPS in GRID 2 (medium settings) on 1080p resolution at such price makes no sense to buy a discrete GPU. But nobody relies on the APU for games. Why?

That is one game, that isn't such a high GPU intensive one.

This is on medium settings, and though 720p does well the difference between medium and high is worthwhile to people, including me. Also - I am also sure they do not have AA enabled, which makes FPS look much better then it is when compared to graphics card tests that are conducted (FPS wise). This makes graphics cards have a far better visual experience over that what and APU can achieve, but also price is expectedly more.

So, for a system without a discrete GPU but intended to play games that the integrated chip can run, which one of these is recommended to get? A10-7850K or i5-4430? (Both were of same prices here, I'm not building any system, just to know)

Check the frame time variance.
Check the quality settings.
Limited upgrade possibilities due to sub par single core performance.

A10 7850 is horribly overpriced.

That equals a already much better graphics performer of the below.

I just wanted to know who wins in APU vs i5. Not building any ! Thanks anyway!

This post is one of the best I have seen in a while. It pretty much owns people's opinions on an A10 APU.
