I have an Archer C7 router.
When I stream 1080p mkv video via Plex from my NAS on my upstairs TV WHILE also locally streaming a second 1080p mkv video to my downstairs TV, I get stuttering where the video pauses and starts over and over again. If I pause the video, wait a few seconds, and then play again I get smooth for about 10 seconds and then pauses and starts again. Then, it will play fine for like 5 minutes and the resume the stuttering. This only happens when I am playing both streams simultaneously.
The upstairs TV streams from the C7 over power line ethernet to a wireless extender switch near that TV.
The downstairs TV streams from the C7 direct over ethernet, so no wireless on either (but as said the upstairs TV is power line ethernet).
The NAS serving up both streams is an unRAID server connected to the C7 via ethernet.
Is the router the bottleneck here? And, if so, would getting a more powerful/faster router allow for both streams to run smoothly?
The unRAID server's CPU doesn't seem to be maxed out as per the unRAID dashboard.
