Architecture Student

Nov 20, 2012
I am a student in Architecture and am looking to buy a desktop that would be able to handle the type of work I will be doing well. I mainly use AutoCad, Rhino, Vray as well as the Adobe Suite. I've put together a list of parts to build my own computer.

I would like to get some opinions on these parts before I make my final decision. Thanks

Go with an Nvidia card. They are faster in Adobe apps (looking into CAD performance). A 460GTX is a cheaper, fast CUDA card. I am testing the 570GTX just for Adobe suite and its very fast and affordable (little more than 200 bucks on sale). The rest looks good.
As for CUDA support, there is an Nvidia AutoCad specific driver for Quadro cards. I recommend a Quadro 4000. Yeah, it costs more, but with special drivers, these cards are much faster than standard gaming cards.
