Hello all,

I recently replaced my AMD FX-6300 with an FX-8350 and I managed to get some Arctic Clean liquids onto the PCB(green part) of my 6300 in between some of the pins. The CPU has long since dried, but there's a slight discoloration of the circuit board where the liquid hit it and made it a little bit of a darker shade of green. Otherwise the CPU looks perfect.

Wondering if anyone has the answer will the CPU work ok or not? I don't want to sell it to someone and not have it work for them.

Thank you guys for your help.

i really doubt that the chip will be effected badly should be fine

Thanks beyondlogic, I feel better now.

also noted the fx 8350 can be a royal pain to keep temperatures down i dunno what your using for cooling but if its evo 212 get something with at least 6 heatpipes and mx4 paste i found this kept my older fx chip in the 35 idle and 60c at full whack

Thanks for the advice, yeah I use the 212 Evo with Arctic Silver 5 and instead of the CM fan I use a Noctua NF-F12 PWM fan. Temps are as you said, 35 idle and never above 50 when I'm gaming.

did you stress test what load was the cores when gaming ? maybe you got a lucky chip but i struggled to maintain its temperatures with a evo i will say one thing about mx4 people have said it doesnt have a curing time it actually does

for example my i3 would idle at 45c and gaming 60c
now its stuck at 40c constant and 50 c gaming 55 when heavy pushed

my fx 8120 suffered from fluctuating temps it may be they sorted this with fx 8350 as the older models had issues with core parking

personally when im building cheap rigs i use the fx 8320e series for friends who want a decent cheap pc out of curiosity what motherboard manufacturer and chipset are you using ?

To be honest, I've not yet stressed it to much, or tested it for that matter, I will be doing that soon. As for the mobo, I'm using a Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P rev. 1. certainly not the greatest, but my computer is not in flames....

i found it the most reliable out of the 970s less issues with gigabyte it should be fine for the fx 8350 should be fine what case are you using

It's a Cougar Solution black full atx...nothing too snazzy. Looking for something from NZXT or Cooler Master to throw my components in...

id go with coolermaster inforcer id replace the fans though

http://www.ncixus.com/products/?usaffiliateid=1000031504&sku=60883&vpn=SGC-1000-KWN1&manufacture=COOLERMASTER

my big reason is simply 200mm fan on front and top if you replace them with 2 better fans it should pull all of that hot air out
id recomend having the fan on top kicking the air out of the case

front fan pushing fresh air in case the rear and roof fan pushing air out of the case

Cool I will check it out. BTW, I did run Prime95 and got two fails on workers 2 and 7 after passing approximately 20 minutes and the first test. I'm bummed. I wonder if this has something to do with LLC. The CPU is running at stock clocks. The computer did not blue screen or freeze, it kept going on the other workers but it's ridiculous that It would fail...it's a brand new chip with brand new RAM. I will run Memtest and see if it is the RAM...other than that I dunno. I have a 700 watt PSU too, I would think that's more than enough. I'll report back.
