Well, I waited a few weeks for the ACF7 Pro to get back-in-stock. Both Newegg & Chiefvalue decided to raise the cost of the ACF7 Pro to over 40 with shipping.

With the cost increase I was thinking about getting one of the Noctua heatsinks instead.

I found the ACF7 Pro at Ebay for just over 27 bucks with shipping which I happily bought.

If anyone wants to get the ACF7 Pro, go here.

Thanks for the reply but I didn't ask where to go. In my OP, I say "which I happily bought".

I ended up paying 27 bucks which included shipping.

I checked heatsinkfactory yesterday and they didn't have it stock. It was still listed at 27 bucks without shipping so I didn't give it a 2nd thought when I saw the ACF7 Pro today on Ebay for $20 with $7 shipping.

Funny you should mention that because e-wiz is the place that actually shipped my ACF7 Pro. I did check it out after I found this out. Though where I live, shipping was close to 10 bucks and ended up being just slightly higher than what I paid.

Hello is the ACF7 pro compatable with the Gigabyte GA-065G-DS3??
I enclose pic for your pleasure (the item just out of focus is a Antec Spot cool and has really helped with my north/south bridge temps!

Yeah, I was like 18 bucks!!!, then I saw shipping... but it was still quite a bit less than most online stores. Hope it lives up to the hype, but I won't get to find out until late April when I do my build with an 8600 card and an e6420 😀

Did you mean to post a new thread? Can't be sure 100%, but the ACF7 Pro should fit that mobo. The ACF7 Pro is one of the smaller heatsinks so it fitting should be no problem.

Yes, I can see the pictures. The reason I asked the question is because in your response you have a different topic. Usually one responds to the topic created by the OP which in this case is me.

I did give a guess if I'm not mistaken in my above response.

You ask for measurements of the ACF7 Pro. Hate to sound like a smart a$$, but did it ever occur to you to go to the website of the manufacturer to get measurements? I get the impression that it didn't.

If you want a definite answer, create a new thread with your topic in it. Creating a thread within a thread is not very efficient in getting your specific question answered.

1, I thought that this thread was close enough and didn't want to start a similar one! (and as some of you guys have the ACF7 Pro)

2, Tried the website and DID get the measurments but i dont know if the PSU/ NB and even the case fan have enough clearence.

3, p.s I'm British i wonder if that is why people get mad at me sometimes? (i.e different stlye of wrinting etc.)

I can understand that this might be a similar thread since you want to know about the ACF7 Pro but this is about it being available and you want to know if it will fit.

I'm sorry that I can't be more specific because I just ordered the ACF7 Pro yesterday and won't get to installing it until next weekend unless I'm lucky enough to get it in tomorrow but I doubt it.

Definitely create a new thread. I would create it in the motherboard section.

British, huh? Well, I'm am jealous of the pubs over there. Have a pint for me.

Cheers.

I'm using that same combination right now. It works just like it should.

A CPU heatsink/fan will always fit on a motherboard (though not necessarily in the case) if it's specified that the heatsink/fan supports the motherboard's socket. The LGA 775 Freezer 7 will fit on the DS3's LGA 775 socket.

ewiz 18 bucks... just bought one yesterday..., 9 bucks shipping however 8O

Yeah, they like their shipping. I believe sometimes what they do is price the product very low...and then once you get to the checkout, charge an insane amount for shipping and keep most of it. I checked at Ewiz and some other sites and they all seemed intent on charging me 30+ to ship to Alaska.

Tiger Direct wanted $40 to ship the OCZ 700W PSU. .. 8O

Yeah just look on Ebay they sometimes charge 99p and then £18 for shipping!

Gonna re-post my question on a better topic to help the poor people 2 months behind me (if you get what I mean)

p.s my board/cpu is stable for a 275 FSB (even in windows) so cant wait to be able to run 275 all day. (too hot with Stock HSF.
