wait! wait! wait! You're telling me, that in 2024, people actually turn off their PCs? If it weren't for Windows required reboots, most of my machines would have uptimes in years, which some of my linux/*BSD servers do have.

All of these units should come with the "CO" class of bearings. If only we could go back to the time when things were made to last and were of the finest quality. But everyone wants profits NOW!

Either you have survivors bias, or you buy cheap products and expect them to last. Products made now are of the highest quality, per the materials used, in human history.
