Hi, as the title says. Does 11th gen intel cpu have hyper threading always turned on?

asking this since my mobo also supprts 11th gen cpu's, Someday I might decide to upgrade, However, one of my important video editing programs don't work in a hyper threaded environment. Would just stick with 10th gen, if 11th gen intel processors are automatically threaded.

Yes. Hyper threading is enabled by default, but you could disable it 😀

Looks like so.

However;

New Overclocking Features and CapabilitiesA range of enhanced overclocking capabilities, including Intel Performance Maximizer,4 Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility,4 Intel Extreme Memory Profile—and, on unlocked processors, per-core hyperthreading, enhanced voltage frequency control, and PCle overclocking.

Meaning that, when you get K-series CPU with Z-series MoBo, you can disable/enable HT per core.

If hyperthreading is a problem, have you looked at a 10850K/10900/10900F/10900K? Ten cores, vs the 8 cores from 11th gen. Would really have to see if the IPC difference was signifcant in your use case. Also 20mb cache vs 16mb.

10850K is currently $300.

Also a lot of engineering samples on ebay for some reason.
