Are 80 degree temps normal for a factory set 1060 6GB?

Hi,
I bought an EVGA Gefroce 1060 6GB yesterday. I tried testing it out and am a bit concerned by the temperatures I'm seeing.

I'm not overclocking. It's in a well ventilated case. I've been trying TW Warhammer at highest settings and XCOM 2. Both games I only played for 10 to 20 minutes and after testing I am concerned that the GPU is running hotter than I'm used to. Mostly over 75 degrees C and max temps of 80-81 C

I'd had an R9 280x in this same case and it never ran above 68 degrees C and the usual temperature was 60-65C.

I'm concerned by the numbers because I wasn't playing for long, only 10 minutes. I'm worried what kind of temperatures it will reach if I play for more than an hour.

Should I be concerned or is this a normal temperature for a 1060 GPU?

Thanks in advance for your help.

It seems like you have the non SC version. It has a bad cooling system which makes it normal seeing those temps.
Keep in mind that 84C is the point where your card will start throttling. So if you want to see better temps, change your thermal paste with another good one and you will get -3C easily. Another option is to underclock the GPU or make a custom fan profile.

Not sure if you're think about SSC version since SC version got the single fan but SSC have dual fans that should be the version you were mentioning about.
