most new power supplys will work with most mb. the only issues that cropped up last year is the new haswell cpu and how low there sleep state is. some older non digital power supplys had issues with haswell sleep states.
but if you don't care about power usage then the sleep states don't matter. overclockers always disable almost all power saving features for stability. the power usage increase from disabling sleep states aren't too significant
Not entirely true tho, some crap psu's actually fails on extreme voltage drops. They are shit. If you buy Corsair or similar quality, then you will never have that issue
