Are all power supplies this difficult to replace?

Alright, so I watched a couple videos on youtube on power supply replacement. In many of the videos, they make it look as easy as just sliding in the power supply. However, when I tried to remove a power supply from an old Dell inspiron, as practice, it was more difficult than that. At first I tried just sliding it, which didn't work. Then after trying many other things, I realized that you had to fit the power supply into the mounting brackets.

On the video tutorials, there didn't seem to be any sort of mounting brackets.

So are all power supplies this hard to replace? Or just Dell ones? And do all computers have "mounting brackets" for power supplies?

Most PSU's are just sitting on the bottom of the case and screwed in from the outside...very simple replace.

No, the ease of installing/removing a PSU is based on your case. Those Dell pcs are made you dont have an easy time removing parts. They want the PC to fail so they can sell you another one after a short period of time.

Well to describe it better, it's like in the videos they just slide the PSU in. However in the Dell, I had to raise it up to get it to fit in the brackets. I hope the HP I currently is easier where I can just slide the psu in and then put the screws in.

i know in HP's theym have tabs you have to push down first then slide it out...its depends on the case

Dell and other pre-built systems aren't designed for ease of use, because after they are assembled they are intended to never be opened again.
