Question Are All SATA Ports have Same Speed in Motherboard?

My Motherboard is MSIB450 Carbon Pro AC which has 6 SATA3 ports. Recently my read/write speed dropped in one of my HDD after unplugging and plugging back SATA cable in the same port. I have Samsung 860 Evo lying around and was thinking about replacing my HDD port with this SSD and i'm also going to buy another Samsung 860 Evo to compare both of there read/write speed.



All I want to know is that will these 2 SSD perform exactly the same in CrystalDiskMark or there'll be slight read/write difference between them? I just hope the SSD which is connected to SATA_1 port doesn't under-perform by 30MB/s because that's the speed my HDD dropped after unplugging and plugging the SATA cable in same port, it used to be 183MB/s and now it's at 153MB/s

Depending on what your operating system is doing at the time you benchmark it, tests like CrystalDiskMark will always show slight differences in speed.

SSDs also have their own characteristics, and will slow down somewhat with higher DWPD or TBW and as you fill them up.

There will be slight differences. They will NOT be exact.
These are some of the drives in my system. 840 EVO of same size and similar age. 860 EVO of close to similar age.

This was all run within the same hour, sometime in 2019.

Still most of them aren't even same SSD but perform extremely similar and these benchmark they aren't that far off from each other, I just hope that my comparison would look the same as yours and not 30MB/s far apart when I install them.

Your min Read is 537.8MB/s and max is 550.1MB/s which are only 12MB/s apart
Your min Write is 514.9MB/s and max is 517.0 which are only 2.1MB/s apart

Your average Read seems to be 544MB/s and 515MB/s write

Unplugging a drive and plugging it back in will not affect it's benchmark speeds. Something else is causing the speed loss you are seeing.

SATA 3 has a theoretical maximum speed of 600MB/s, which is why @USAFRet's drives are all around 550MB/s. Basically, each of his drives are able to saturate the SATA3 storage controller's throughput (assuming ~50MB/s encoding overhead).

Edit - Your board supports M.2 NVMe. If you are concerned about speed pick up a good Samsung or Western Digital NVMe drive.

I'm not concerned about speed at all since I already have Samsung 970 Pro M.2 NVME, what i'm worried about is my motherboard SATA port.

Well, unplugging it and plugging it back in didn't cause the issue. At this point it's difficult to tell what did cause it.
