Are AMD CPUs good and reliable?

I am building a budget gaming pc and I can't really afford an Intel. So, I'm looking at an AMD.
Here is the exact build I'm looking at.

Does anyone have some insight? Also, I'm probably going to upgrade it at some point
so what would be a good CPU upgrade that is still compatible with everything so I
won't have to replace the motherboard or anything like that. Thanks!

For a little more, you can get a far better CPU and twice the storage. FM2 is going to be replaced with FM2+ early next year.

AMD are very reliable, just make sure you snap on a CPU Cooler. I don't think there is a CPU upgrade for you. FM2+ is already out, I think and there are new (quad-core) Steamroller based APUs coming out this year...

I would use this setup but there is one problem, my budget is $560 max.

Yes, AMD processors are every bit as reliable as Intel. The only place they lose out is in pure gaming speed.

I think your build is fine and a 6-core processor as opposed to a 4 core won't make any real difference in gaming.

What is FM2+ everyone is talking about? Is it a new version of the FM2 motherboard and why is it so important?

FM2+ is a new socket. FM2 chips will work in FM2+ boards but FM2+ CPU's will not work in FM2. For all intents and purposes FM2 is a dead socket in a couple months or so.

FM2+ is the next generation of the FM2 socket. Getting it would make you slightly more future proof for the next generation of AMD CPUs.

FX 6300 > a 750k. The lack of L3 cache hurts gaming performance significantly.

Try that, for $10 more than your $560 max budget, you can get the HD 7850, which will be a massive boost in your gaming performance.

Ok so is F2+ out yet so I can go ahead and use it or is t not out yet ad I will just have to wait?

Additionally, the FX-6300 uses the current PileDriver CPU architecture while the AMD Athlon X4 750k is based on a derivative of the older Bulldozer CPU architecture. In fact, all AMD APU generations (Llano, Trinity, and Richland) are all based on a modified Bulldozer core.

This, but he can stay with four cores if he wants as it won't really affect gaming performance.

I suppose I am used to looking at the mobile versions of the AMD APUs. The mobile version of Trinity and Richland are based on a Bulldozer derivative while Llano is based on Barcelona.

How do I know if it is an FM2+ or an FM2?
