This is a problem caused by Microsoft screwing up DirectX 9.0b. It's
a known problem and easily solved. I have an 8500DV and it works
perfectly once a 'fix' is applied. Post your problem to
alt.comp.periphs.videocards.ati and you'll get an answer in short
order. You'll need to obtain a package with a fixed kstvtune.ax file.
I can't remember where to download it from. Alternatively reinstall
your PC and only put DirectX 9.0a on it and not 9.0b.
Nvidia drivers are no better. The latest one stops roaming profiles
updating on a Windows 2000 AD network.
Gone, I think, are the days of bug free video drivers
🙁.
