Are Asus ROG laptops good ?

Hello Tom's Hardware forms I have e a quick question I currently own a mid 2017 MacBook air with a 5th gen i5 1.8ghz 8gb of ddr3 ram and 128 gb of storage a friend of mine has a Asus ROG laptop model GL502vt with a i7 6700hq, 12 gb of ram and a 970m GPU he wants to trade me for that laptop.

My question is how are Asus Rog laptops in terms of build quality and how is the cooling system on it I know it will run warm with that hardware I've never owned any gaming laptops and I'm considering it since it looks to be in like new condition he just used it for photoediting.

Rog laptops are top notch, the only real issue is the cooling, just get a cooling pad or preferably an opolar cooler and you'll be set,
i own one and i love it! )

I wouldn't change macbook to asus.
It's not a good option at all.
