Are corsair power supplies any good?

I have a Corsair GS700 in my PC (my first build). the build quality is excelent, it has nice long cables and looks the part too. What parts are you looking to power with it? because I think 700W will be an overkill for a single graphics card. I bought a watt-meter and tested to see how much power my PC was drawing from the PSU. with an OCed i5 2500k and a 560 ti it consumed 300W when running very heavy stress testing programs (prime95 and furmark), normal gaming use was about 200-250W, so 700W is a complete overkil for me!

I suggest saving a bit of money and getting a quality 500W+ PSU (you dont tend to get good PSUs for big graphics cards under 500W), or a GS600 if you have your eyes on the corsair GS series.

NB: for any users who were wondering about my power consumption comparison, I have already factored a (rough) 80% efficency calculation!

Currently I've got a amd 7750 and a nvidia 250gts. I realise a 700w is overkill for my current system but I plan on building a completely new computer in a few months. I was actually thinking about getting the i5 2500k and the 560ti in my new system.
