[SOLVED] Are EVGA PSUs crap?

I've seen several disparaging comments regarding the quality of EVGA power supplies, particularly in reference to stability and their ability to handle power spikes in components such as the RTX 3080/3080Ti/3090 ..

So are EVGA power supplies just crap? And if they are, what brand makes the best power supplies?

Haven't kept up in the very recent past, but some EVGAs were highly regarded.

There aren't very many manufacturers as opposed to brands and any manufacturer can make lousy PSUs............depending on what specs and parts the brand name wants to include to meet their price point.

Not all EVGA models are crap. Sometimes they do a good job. Supernova G6 for example. It's a lot better than the GA and G5 which has issues with RTX 30x0.
BTW; EVGA don't produce any PSU. They buy from OEMs like FSP, HEC, Andyson and Seasonic.

EVGA has a mix of good and bad, just like everyone else. I think the NAMING is where some of the mixed reception comes from.
N1, N2, N3, N4, N5
B1, B2, B3, B4, B5
G1, G2, G3, G4, G5
KA, KD, KG, KR, KT
and so on. Their lineups practically look like that and a row won't all be made by the same OEM either.
It's confusing, and probably deliberately so.
