Are fan filters worth it?

So, I'm planning on doing my first light modding on my case. I'll put an acrylic side panel and some leds, so I can see whats inside and stuff. I'll sleeve, paint, all that, bla bla bla. My question is, dust is a real bummer, and I don't want my soon to be beautiful case to be covered in dust too quickly. So I thought, how about fan filters? But my concerns are, are they really worth it? How well does the filters work on preventing dust from getting in the case? What is the best material for a filter? And does it cripples airflow?

Yes your parts tend to have a have a shorter life if there is no dust filter because all of your components get dusty and make the fans work harder.

Yes, there is no need for filters to keep the dust from being blown out of the case.
