Just built a new system and I've noticed in games such as league of legends I will have a solid 170-240 fps until playing the game a bit it will drop to 120-130. I'm curious to know if this is normal? I have checked the temperate and nothing is over 40 degrees (during drops)

Try turning V-sync on or off, depending on which it was set to first and then make sure your power settings are set to performance.
It's good form to list your entire build as well. You shouldn't have FPS drops in a game as light as League, on such a build.
Lastly, download GeForce Experience from Nvidias website and update your GPU drivers.
