Are Gigabyte Z68 mobo safe?

I'm building a new system and I decided to go with Z68 chipset since Z77 is still too early in its public stage, but I am worried about Gigabyte's issue with boot loop thingy, I could just go with another brand but I like Gigabyte so I was wondering if I should avoid Gigabyte for Z68 mobo, or it's not as big an issue as it's made out to be?

And if I go with another brand, I'm probably going with ASUS, however ASRock seems to have more features for less money, is ASRock recommended?

I've been using a Gigabyte Z68 board since November and haven't had any issues.

If u have a choice to choose, and go with Z68 when Z77 is out, its little step back.
