Are graphic cards useful for sports streaming?

I currently have an nba subscription to watch basketball games online on my laptop. The streaming is excellent, it never lags and the audio works perfectly. The only thing that could be improved is the image quality, its as if there is not much colour. I've tried streaming on other computers and many of them have a much better image quality. How can the image quality be improved? My laptop has a resolution of 1366 x 768. Would I need a better graphics card for higher image quality?

You have a laptop, there's nothing you can do to improve the resolution. You're stuck with what you have.

Unless they are streaming 720p you aren't going to get a better picture from a video card. It is all digital, so it should look the same regardless.

That said, most 1366x768 screens are not that good. Usually found on lower-end laptops and mass produced business models.

I'm not sure about the 720p streaming, it says that with an internet connection of 3Mbps and a few other criteria i should ensure very high quality streaming. So I suppose there is nothing else I can do to improve image quality?
