I am considering the Gigabyte GTX 1070 Windforce mainly because it is the cheapest model ($400). I don't plan on overclocking, so I waswondering how worth it it would be to break my budget* and get one of the ~$430 models?

*Actually $400 already breaks my budget

At 1080p this card should push most games past 100 fps and since your 60 hz monitor can't display more than 60 fps there's really no gain unless you're trying to show off your eboner.
They do offer better performance obviously. thats a given, you would see 2-10fps depending on the OC models.

but as you have mentioned you are already breaking your budget with that Gigabyte GTX 1070 at $400, so just go for it. since your pushing too much might hurt you somewhere else, (actual needs to survive??) so dont trouble your self the Gigabyte Windforce is a good card. and since you wont OC so it wont matter but thats free performance sitting around though. but it makes everything hotter so I can see your point.

but in my opinion you dont need to push your self to get the bigger OC versions since your pushing your actual budget.

Also, since I am only going to be using it for 1080p and my monitor is only 60Hz (https://www.asus.com/us/Commercial-Monitors/VN247HP/), would I really even see any difference between a faster OC? My understanding is that this card is overkill for 1080p.
