Hello,
So yesterday i found a HP 630 Laptop on ebay for 120£
in my country (greece) this laptop costs 670€ so i thought it's a nice deal and without any second thoughts i rushed and purchased it.
It has an Intel Core i3 processor, 4GB of Ram and a 500GB HDD
These specs should be enough for my needs
but ALOT of people are saying HP Laptops are bad, is this true?

I use a couple of HP laptops on a regular basis. They seem quite alright to me. Hp tends to load them up with a bunch of bloaty software though so ... you might want to spend some time removing that stuff. Also, I don't find their on-site support to be much good.

I m using 6910p HP laptop from last 4 years and it's working still finer. Even i have installed VS 2012, yet the performance is surprisingly considerable. So HP laptops are giants and they've always been my first choice. Their assembling, components and the entire machine works beautifully if one use it with proper care.

Okay so i just got the laptop and i doesn't work...
It just powers on and then the caps lock light is blinking and after 13 blinks it powers off
EDIT: Ram is fine, i just didn't inserted it properly.
The laptop still does the same thing though

Go back to the ebay webpage for that laptop you bought. Does it say anything that would translate into "Sold As Is" or "parts only laptop"? That would indicate that the laptop does not work so it's only purpose would be to scavenge it for part to fix another HP laptop of the same model.

Otherwise, if it just states something like it is a "used laptop" that is being put up for sale, then most people would assume that the laptop works properly. If the webpage states or implies nothing about the laptop being broken, then contact the seller.

At worse you should be able to contact ebay customer service to complain about the seller and the laptop you purchased. Ebay has a buyer protection policy of some sort (I have not used eBay in over 10 years) to protect consumers i something goes wrong with the transaction.

I always check the condition before i buy something and it did say it works
anyway i contacted the seller and he said to return the item so he can give me a new one
Thanks for the info anyway, i'm sure other people will find your info useful!

UPDATE:
So i sent back the laptop to them so they can fix it and they said the problems was Windows releated even though it clearly was hardware releated
after 3 days they gave us a refund because they can't fix it
with the refund i'm thinking of buying this ASUS i3 laptop

I have a HP laptop that I use for long time for every kind of stuff. I use it for work, also I game on it a little (older and not much power demanding games). On top of that I use it in dirty conditions also hot and cold weather diagnosing cars with OBD cables. So it has been through much but never failed on me. I'd say go for HP, they are the best in my opinion. :)
