Are Motherboards taking a step back?

I am busy doing my research for a new pc and have found that about 2 weeks ago, some of the best AMD boards were x470 and all of a sudden only the x370 feature. What happened?

i think most msi, gigabyte, asus and others are just fine. which one is the best is just based on your requirements. i love asus and gigabyte and msi best overall.

Maybe you are looking at the wrong site. Can't help you if you don't tell us anything useful

Probably more important than why no X470 boards are listed on any 'best' list is the criteria for being listed in the first place.

For instance: if one criteria is geared towards 'be cheap' then X370 could easily displace X470 as vendors discount them to clear stocks since X370 are still very capable boards technically, even for 2nd gen Ryzen.
