I am trying to build a custom gaming PC, but I am clueless about computers. Would the gigabyte A320M-S2H motherboard be compatible with the ryzen 5 2600x and a gtx 980 with 2x8 GB ram g skill ripjaw v series DDR4 3200.
I also have a 460 watt power supply
Viewsonic monitor elite xg240r
pioneer m.2 256 GB SSD
Help is appreciated, Thanks!

Strictly 'compatible', yes - assuming the A320 motherboard has a BIOS update (it launched with 1000 series CPUs).

3200MHz may be difficult to achieve with a 2600X and A320 board, but that'll depend on the kit & BIOS support.

I'm not aware of any 'good' quality 460W PSUs, so that's likely to be your first hurdle - A 980 is a ~175W GPU IIRC, so theoretically you'd be ok. In practice, that may not be the case.
