This is my first PC build and i have had issue after issue which is my own fault of course but i have really hit a wall when i put it together first the PC powered up but i could not get any visuals using my HDMI i was told it was because my MSI Z97S Mother Board has LGA 1150 sockets while my CPU is LGA 1151 so i bought my new DDR 4 Ram and GIGABYTE Mother Board but now the power cuts off in 1 second any help is appreciated

my PC parts

Motherboards:
GIGABYTE Z37OP D3
MSI Z97S SLI KRAIT EDITION

Power Supply:
Corsair CX65OM

CPU:
I5 6500 LGA1151

GPU:
GTX 970 iChiLL AirBoss

RAM:
Corsair Vengence DDR3 2X8
Corsair Vengence LPX DDR4 2X8

Case:
NZXT Phantom 530

i checked a list for the Z370P supposedly the 15 8600k is compatible if i buy it will everything be in order like will the power supply be enough
Yes, everything will work with that cpu.
it's a nice leap in performance over the old i5 6500 as it's much higher clocked, unlocked and has 2 more cores.
You'll need an aftermarket cooler for it though as it doesn't come with one and Intels stock cooler wouldn't be enough anyway.

You could sell the old I5 aswell as they still can be used for lower end systems.

An 8600k and z370 will work together well and the 6 threads will be great for games and decent for rendering tasks, although it would be better for rendering if it supported hyperthreading.

Id suggest a hyper 212 as a cheap aftermarket cooler for stock clocks or a mild overclock. A bequiet dark rock pro 4 would be my choice for a good looking tower cooler for overclocking.
