So playing rust for 2 hours and my GPU is about 80° and CPU around 50° is this bad, my friends were saying it is really bad what temp should i aim for while gaming at best settings for extended periods of time?

PC Specs are:
CPU: Intel Core i7 4790K @ 4.5Ghz
CPU COOLER: Corsair H100i Water Cooled
MOBO: Asus Maximus VII Ranger
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 4GB
RAM: Crucial Ballistix 8GB DDR3
PSU: Corsair 750W
OS: Windows 10, 64bit
Any help or suggestion would be much appreciated.

It's pretty common to see graphics cards under load around the 80 C mark, and 50-60 C for a CPU is well under the thermal threshold. If your hardware starts getting too hot, you'll start to see signs of instability like excess stuttering, artifacting and other telltale signs.

And in the event that your hardware is getting too hot, unless the temperatures are extreme, your system would (well should, ideally) shut down to protect itself before any damage can occur.

Ok thank you for the clarification, i got extremely paranoid after they said the stuff to me and put all fans at 100%. I can now play games in peace without the sounds of a locust swarm attacking me :)
