Are my temperatures while under load bad?

Hello

I've recently been monitoring my computers temps and noticed that my CPU and GPU temperatures were getting high, like the GPU was like 70-80C and the cpu was 60-70C.But i've luckily got a year's warranted on my pc so i sent it back last week.I got it back last Friday and when i turned it on the CPU fan nor the rear fan turned on because i had too plug the CD drive cable and hard drive cable in myself. It either came loose in the post or they didn't remember to plug it in,as now i have it back i carry on monitoring my temps so see any improvements and my CPU still goes to late 50's while under load and the GPU goes to 68-80C under load so i'm wondering why is it getting that hot and is there anything to do about it.

My specs:
CPU:intel i7 4790k+with stock cooler+and an extra rear fan
GPU:Nvidia GTX 970
Motherboard:Gigabyte Z97-DS3H
Ram:Corsair Vengeance 16GB 1600MHz
HDD:Seagate Barracuda 1TB
PSU:Areocool 800w

Appreciate any answers!

1. Always give full model numbers of relevant components. Which nvidia 970 for example could be relevant.

2. Same thing for "load" ... under what load ?

3. Important to know if CPU / GPU are stock or overclocked.

The appropriate temps for GPUs being stress tested with Furmark are in the range you describe.... but that's a bit high for gaming. I'm not seeing over 63C yet when gaming. Temps for CPU are a bit low if stress testing but right in the ballpark if just gaming at stock settings.

When reporting temps, I would suggest:

a) Record all temps, voltages whatever with HWiNFO
b) Use Furmark for GPU stress testing
c) Use RoG Real Bench for CPU stress testing
d) Include full component name / model numbers

The CPU is excellent considering its a stock cooler (wouldn't use that fan to cool off soup). But the 970 is a bit high unless its a reference model cause that has that one tiny little fan on it, any other 970 that would be a bit high for temps.
