Hi guys!

I have a few questions regarding my rig wondering if some of my temperatures are within acceptable range and if I have a bottleneck and/or too cheap parts somewhere.

First my rig:

cpu -> i5-8600k OC'ed@ 4.6ghz...I have never changed the voltage
cpu cooler -> evga clc 240mm AiO with the 2 fans in the front of the case being intake
gpu -> msi gtx 1080ti Duke @ stock frequencies
ram -> 2x8gb ddr4 3000mhz
case -> Phanteks Eclipse P350X
fans -> one on top being intake and one in the back being outtake

- The current temperature where the PC is located is that 30C at the moment.

Right now, working from home...
  • My CPU overall temperature is around 35C but it can be quite erratic and fluctuate to 55C in a second and come back to 35 the next...
  • The CPU Coolant temperature varies from 34C and 38C and pump speed is at ~2220 RPM. EVGA Control Flow says the fan speed is at 0 but HWMonitor says my cpu fan is at 1094 RPM
  • My GPU temperature is at 48C

Last night when running Prime95
- My CPU got up to 100C but while gaming it fluctuates around 75C~80C

When running Heaven Benchmark
- My GPU got up to 85C

Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

TJ max on that CPU is 100C. 80C is a bit higher than what most people prefer but it's not out of overly high for a CPU under load. So long as it's stable at that temp I wouldn't worry. I also agree with Jay that prime 95 is not exactly a good benchmark. A better test of the cooling system for a gaming machine would be to loop heaven or firestrike. For a work station I'm not sure, maybe cinebench on loop?
