So i currently own an intel pentium g3258 and a gtx 750ti and am looking for parts to upgrade. i have settled on a GTX 1050ti and an intel i5 4460. The only problem is I dont know if the ~£300 is worth the upgrade, and i cant really go above that price because for one i dont have a lot of money to spend on parts and i also need a case because my current one has a broken side panel and terrible power button. If anybody can tell me how much more of an improvement the new parts would be to the old parts i would appreciate it a lot to finalise my decision, thanks!

There are no newer generations running on
LGA1150, if you wanna keep your MB, then that CPU is not bad. If you want gaming performance, it should be about on par with a 4770, minus Hyperthreading.
If you dont wanna upgrade your MB, go for it. I didnt factor in MB and RAM in my other post.
I'd say dont upgrade the CPU until you can get the newest one. If you buy a 3yr old one, next year you will be upgrading again. The upgrade from a 750Ti to a 1050Ti is worth it, but for the CPU, i'd wait until i could get a current 7xxx or 8xxx, because the G3258 should run the 1050Ti pretty well.

are there any newer generation cpus that run on socket LGA1150, its been a pain in the neck trying to find any but ill consider leaving the CPU for a while if there isnt any, its just that id rather keep the motherboard i already own
