I calculated the psu reading for a designated system. The total load requirement was less than that of my present PSU rating but the calculator's recommended rating(load requirement + 50W) exceeded my present PSU's one so should I go for the system with present PSU or should I buy a new PSU.

Complete all 3 of these as best you can:
http://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator
http://www.coolermaster.com/power-supply-calculator/
http://powersupplycalculator.net/

Then take the average of the 2 closest results.

Also:
(1) What is you planned system specs?
(2) What is your current PSU make and model number?

Seeing that you already have a PSU, you can test it with your new build as you have nothing to loose.
If the testing reveals problems, then upgrade your PSU.

Most PSU calculators grossly over-state the power supply requirements to "compensate" for the broad availability of sub-par to horrible quality PSUs.

Any good quality PSU over 500W should be able to power most high-end single GPU single CPU system even after overclocking. More mainstream builds rarely require more than 300W but quality PSUs under 400W are highly uncommon.
