I'm building an Oculus ready PC, also future proofing. I've 100% decided on a 980 ti GPU, and I found a refurbished MSI 980 ti Lightning for $599 as opposed to $699 new after mail-in rebate. This is the card I want and the price is great, anyone have experience buying used or refurbished computer parts? I found it on Amazon, the seller is Tegra Tech Store and they have good ratings and a there's a 180 day warranty which doesn't seem bad at all for refurbished, but I'd appreciate some input on refurbished graphics cards in general. Thank you :)

That seems alright. It is probably an open-box item since the 980 Ti has only been out for a few months and hasn't been really surpassed by much. But that is a pretty good deal. And the 980 Ti will outperform the Fury X at that resolution... Though with such a new product you never can know until it is released.

I've had good experiences with refurbished cards, but I prefer to buy from the manufacturer for warranty reasons. I recently picked up a GTX 970 from EVGA and it's flawless. 1 year warranty included.

I also consider who refurbished it in my decision. Manufacturer refurbished, yes. Anyone else... I question the warranty. For GPUs, I consider 1 year a minimal warranty.

Thanks everyone, and it is manufacturer refurbished. Says MSI factory refurbished 180 days end user warranty. Also I figured with how recently this card was released even if it was used it couldn't be too bad like ComputerSecurityGuy said.
