Question Are refurbished hard drives as durable as new ones?

Hello guys, I wanted to ask wether I should buy a refurbished hard drive if i am getting it at half the price of a new one. It also has a waranty of 1 year. Will it be as durable as new one.

maybe or maybe not. new is allways better but i used many used parts inclunding hdd that worked good so it could be worth it. who is selling it? if its ebay check the reviews.

Hard drives are cheap enough I'd never trust a refurbished one.

What good does a warranty do you when your data is wiped?

If it is not for CRUCIAL Data, and just for games & stuff, then what`s to lose? My guess is many are Amazon returns, rather than actual been used for a few years replacements.
Again... It all depends on how much you save... (50%?).
