I want to buy the following card

Sapphire Radeon X1600 XT 256M GDDR3 PCI-E VGA / TVO / DVI-I ; Fan; 128-bit; 16Mx32 GDDR3; 600Eclk/700Mclk; Dual Link DVI ; Lite Retail - SPH-EX1600XTG256B128-TD

Is it any good? I saw that X1600XT is better than nvidia's 7600GT but i don't know if Sapphire makes quality vedeo cards.

Sapphire is a good company, if I'm not mistaken they are a company that is owned by ATI now owned by AMD. I think they buy from ATI came a long time ago, I'd say 5 years ago or so. I just remember my high school network admin telling me about the purchase.

If your stuck between a Radeon 1600 and a 7600GT, definately go with the 7600GT. I prefer ATI over nVidia but go with nVidia on this purchase, you will definately like it :)

I have it on an AGP system and it's awesome.
Plays any games with great detail and high framerates at 1024x768.
If I go higher it slows, but I'm very happy overall. Really good card.

The X1650Pro approaches the 7600GT in performance, and the upcoming X1650XT should beat the 7600GT and come close to the 7900GS... atleast that's what I heard.

I have a Sapphire card, and while it is a good card, it isn't responsive to overclocking. Also, if you try to get drivers or other updates from them, they refer you to ATI. So, I'd say that it depends on your desires. If you just want a good card and you aren't going to overclock it, then its good. If you plan on overclocking, then look elsewhere.

im aslo an ATI fan, but the x1600 are a lil underpowered, if your in a budget and can find one for cheap than it makes for a decent card, but if u have the option of anything in the range of 7600gt, or x1800gto, then go with those, even the old x800pro gives the x1600 a good run for its money

I have a Sapphire card and there are issues. My friend got this card cause someone told him it was good (x1800 GTO) but it woldn't play warcraft. I tried catalyst 6.5,6.6,5.3 (& drivers without catalyst control center) and omega drivers on it to no avail. Many others complained about ATI drivers on wow forums so I thought that I may be able to fix it that way, but no. When I finally built a new system I got him an nVidia card and I would use the x1800. It crashes all the time on 3DMark05 so I got a hold of sapphire support & they want me to send it to them at my cost and include a $30US money order for them to ship it back after. I have no backup PCI-E card to use in the meantime so I told them I don't want to do this but they don't address my concerns in any email I send them. So in general this has not been a good experience and I will be sticking to nVidia.

One example does not make a case study. I have had several Sapphire cards with no problems, and most of them overclock well, or rather, can be overclocked.
