Are temps a real concern for M.2 drives?

I recently got a 1Tb 970 evo M.2 but have yet to install it. I just saw they make little heat-sink's for them and I might pick one up as cooler temps are always welcomed, but are they really necessary?

Under normal use conditions do temps even need to be watched? It will be squished behind an EVGA 1080 SC2 on a mATX board in a mid tower case. I get average/below average temps on my GPU and CPU.

Solution
Ive been running my 500gb Evo 960 for the past year without issue without a heatsink and it sits under my Asus Rog Strix GTX 1080. They only time you'll notice anything is if you are doing extreme SSD benchmarking. for regular use, its not a problem

Not necessary. Unless you have a case temp problem or you are doing some hardcore file I/O you will never get it hot enough to need that.
