Hi team -
I'm planning to fit an ATX mobo in an MATX case
So far the mobo fits perfectly in the case (stand offs are aligned well)
Because of the ATX mobo's length, however, a regular sized ATX PSU will not fit (duh)
So one of the diy (do it yourself) guides im following suggests that an sfx psu will fit in place of an atx psu
My question is therefore to confirm whether the WIDTH dimensions of an SFX psu is slightly smaller than a regular atx
(i need a slimmer width so that the psu won't push on the atx on the side)
by width dimension, please see pic below
(green is the "width" im talking about. i need a smaller width (even a small difference will help) than regular psu)
note:
i know the forum is generally against diy projects like this. i will accept ALL advice, regardless, but i really want advice about my question and not advice on just buying an atx case.
i will, of course, go to my local computer shop and have a sfx fitted, but i just wanted to get advice if anyone has done a similar project or come across it on YT
as always, ALL advice is appreciated. thank you
Pic link is below (website is imgbb, it wont let me embbed pic for some reason)
