Are the GTX 1070 FTW cards safe, now?

I've been waiting a long time to see them reform and lately they have been nearly out of stock 24/7.

Wondering if any one knows if they've been putting the pads on this time.

Basically the question is has any one or does any one know any one who's gotten a card with thermal pads on them (EVGA FTW cards, that is).

Solution
I bought one a few weeks ago from Newegg and it came with the thermal pads installed, BIOS updated, etc. Cards made since 11/2016 have this. So it's just a matter of making sure you get a 'new' one.

When this first became an issue, they would send out the thermal pad fix to all owners of the old ones. They also offered to put on the thermal fix for you if you didn't feel comfortable with it (it'd have to be sent back though). All of this while maintaining the warranty.

Nope. Any thing above a 1050 Ti is still super expensive due to crypto mining and the prices don't seem to be coming down anytime soon.

I don't think you understood the question.

Oh I see what you meant. Looks like they sent out a hot fix. https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/5amxr9/discussion_evga_geforce_gtx_10801070_pwm/

Yeah I would think they fixed that issue by now, they were really good about getting replacements out and fixing current cards. I don't have one (i went with Asus for most of my last build) but I would assume they are safe to use as they are a pretty good company and something like that would be very damaging to their reputation if they just let it go.

Yeah, I just didn't know if the ones that just went out of stock were actually replaced with new ones with pads or if those will be the ones that was be restocked. I'd just rather buy mine with them on and be safe than sorry. Every time I take something apart I always put it back together 99% as good Lol.
