[SOLVED] Are there any 5+ bay SATA enclosures that don't destroy data/drives?

I'm looking at getting a 5-bay (or more) SATA enclosure to add a new RAID5 array to my PC.

I've looked at all of the enclosures available on NewEgg and literally all of the ones with 5 or more bays have more 1-star reviews than any other number of stars, with the review details all lamenting that the enclosures damaged their drives and/or destroyed their data within weeks or months of being deployed.

Normally I would probably overlook a few bad reviews and chock that up to PEBKAC, but with the volume of troubles people seem to have with these compared to successes, I'm more inclined to think it's the products themselves.

But there are only two brands on that site with 5-bay drives, and the only other major retailer for Canadian sales (MemoryExpress) doesn't even offer 5-bay enclosures.

Can anyone shed some light on this situation?

And can anyone recommend a reliable 5+ bay SATA III enclosure with USB 3.0 and support for at least 8TB drives, that won't just act like a shredder for my data and drives?
