Turbo has a very good suggestion. One powerful GPU will be better than two less powerful ones. You would think that you get twice the performance as one, but that isn't how it works. On average, you will only get about 40% increase in performance by adding a second GPU in either crossfire or SLI. This also obviously depends on the GPU.
