Are there any CUDA applications for the end user ? Last time i checked most were for professional use and a few video conversion tools .

is there anything new on that side that will change the user choice to Nvidia from AMD?

What could you use CUDA for? The only intensive task a standard consumer does is gaming, maybe, and that is still just a small percentage of the market. It isn't possible to apply CUDA to office tasks, you can't make Microsoft word more parallel.

If you do anything like Folding@Home or BOINC (distributed computing) some of those may use CUDA if an Nvidia card is present. As far as end-user programs, not much I can think of.
