Are there any improvements I can make for my PC temperatures with my setup?

I recently purchased a Corsair H55 water cooler, my 'under load' temp for my CPU was 60C once I got a new graphics card and started boosting my settings. I'm well aware how undesirable that number is lol. Once I installed what was supposed to be an upgrade, my ceiling for temps under load was reduced to about 54C, which is lower yes, but on the box it apparently advertises, that under 100% load im supposed to be guaranteed 42C which *cough* is my idle temp, at about 0-1% load. Its about 21C on average inside my house, so its not like its the room temp too much. My radiator is on the back panel of my PC, and there is a fan behind it intaking air to the radiator, per Corsair's recommendation. There is a fan in the very front of my computer pushing air to the back, so theres a bit of a confliction somewhere in the middle. Is there anything I can do to help my water cooler give me some results? Sorry for being long-winded and thank you for your time!

Their claim might have a modern 65 watt i5 or equivalent using much less core voltage, and not some all-encompassing generic claim for all processors in general, including 7-8 year old processors in general...

See what other folks are getting with 'under load' temps with the same CPU using Intel cooler vs. yours or similar at stock clocks...

31C idle temps might be unrealistic....

I use a h60 on my i7 6800k and oc 3.8GHz im always on 40-42C idle or load.

You did paste correctly? maybe repaste to see if it has the same temps or use arctic paste?

Yeah I didn't buy into the 'guarantee' too much haha, I appreciate the feedback, I'll do a little research, thanks!

There was a fair quantity of old paste on there, so I didn't refresh it, say I were to, what would be the best way to wipe off the old paste? Like a paper towel or something? I don't want to mess with the processor too much, I wouldn't be surprised if this dino thermal paste wasn't up to snuff XD
