[SOLVED] Are there any monitors that are able to play at a higher Hz at a lower resolution?

I was wondering if there were any 1440p 165hz or 144hz monitors that when the resolution was turned down to 1080p that they were able to play at a higher Hz as I had a monitor when you played at a lower res it was able to play a 75hz compared to 60hz.

You mean 1440p 144hz lower it to 1080p and higher hz if yes then yeah you can but I don’t recommend that you are overclocking your monitor even after lowering res but if you want you can try through Nvidia control panel I don’t know about amd but sometimes it ruines your warranty so be careful I don’t see any reason going higher than 144hz you won’t notice a big deference even going higher 240hz you won’t notice big deference.

Resolution has nothing to do with refresh.

Turning down resolution will not allow for you to get more hz from your monitor than what the panel is rated for. Not matter the monitor.

You can slightly overclock a panel higher than rated, but it can damage the panel.

If you want 1080p 240hz, just get a 240hz 1080p display.
