Due to the fact that this project is business related, for security purposes, I am allowing myself to purchase a separate tablet that only allows communication where being physically present and connected as an authorized user (via wire) is permitted. This tablet will be used for presentations as well as lending to potential clients for a few hours at a time to, "try out," within a local supervised area. There must not be any wireless technology built-in to or associated with the device AT ALL, simply dissabling it is not an option.
This is what I'm looking for, if you can help you are awesome!
The socket for the charger on the device needs to.. 1) Not be associated with or shared with any other purposes including and especially those consisting of data transmission 2) Once this criteria (number 1) is met, then to ALSO not be the type that can or has been used for any other purposes other than power in the industry; so even if the socket does not serve any other purposes ON THIS DEVICE (besides charging)...if it is a TYPE of socket that is capable of transmitting information in general (was/is done for other devices in other scenarios, was/is known to do so in the industry, or EVEN POSSESSES THE POTENTIAL OF DOING SO IN THE FUTURE), then no bueno.
The size and demensions OF THE DISPLAY (not the entire device, but the outline of area where the beginnings and ends of all visual functionality on the device is observed while in use) to be approximately 8 1/2" x 11" (as if it were a general piece of printer paper, and the closest we can get to these exact dimensions would be the best; *absolutely no smaller than the average tablet advertised/listed at ~ 10" ).
A decent to, "good," level of durability. No need to be as, "tough," as a product specifically designed for these purposes, but "shattering like wineglass if/when dropped," is unacceptable (as it will be passed around back and forth in a socially constructed/unorganized gathering of people and touching approximately 100 different hands in unpredictable/uncontrollable conditions -food, drink, etc.).
Manufactured by a company that is NOT well known. My idea would be a product made a couple years ago that is either on clearance or discontinued and is only available refurbished (maybe the company is not in business anymore etc.). Where nobody really knows or knew a whole lot about the company and the reason the product was discontinued was because they offered too much at too little cost, thus resulting in many failed or short-lived units (products off clearance, refurbished products, and those with low customer ratings I am interested in since the quantity cost will become a factor if I decide to buy more than one, plus I am purposely making parts of it dysfunctional anyways).
Once I am finished preparing the information on my computer for this device, I would then perform a one-time synchronization delivering all of the content to it. Once I see that the data is successfully transmitted, I would literally remove, cut-off/cut out, break, smash, and/or make dysfunctional the data transmission socket on the device, as well as all other sockets except for the charger (this is where the charger socket not being in association with any other sockets will come in handy!).
The end result would be a tablet with approx ~ 8 1/2" x 11" display that permanently (assuming that the device maintains proper functionality and doesn't break, die etc.) houses an unchanged set of information for presentation purposes. It can (of course) be successfully recharged when the battery dies, and this charging socket on the device is not capable nor will ever be capable of serving any other purposes. There were no wireless connections or capabilities (i.e. wifi 802.11, gps, bluetooth, infrared, rfid, etc.) built-in to the device from the factory, and any other (wired) connections and/or their corrisponding sockets are now permanently dysfunctional at this point (omit the charger). While not engineered for this purpose, the durability is decent enough to withstand minor drops and falls without, "shattering like a wineglass," or impairing the funtionality.
