Hi. Are there any laptops or devices that would allow you to access the internet from a laptop using a mobile sim card? I know a mobile phone can use a sim card to access the internet, but can a laptop do the same?

No, laptops do not have any ports or internal physical devices that allow such a feature, or at least mainstream laptops do. That's simply because portable USB cellular wifi hot-spots/dongles exist. They're USB devices that use SIM cards with pre-paid data or subscription services to provide cellular based wifi to laptops.

Something like this:

Laptops cannot use just a SIM card alone because they do not have modem software/hardware installed that allows them to communicate with a cellular tower. So that device in the link above does it for them.

If you order one, make sure first that it's able to communicate with the region's cellular towers and that you get a 4G one since the one above is 3G and probably too slow.

Thank you. Can a desktop access the internet using a WWAN card and mobile sim?

A lot of business models can accept a SIM card, most 2-1 tablet systems have them. We use them a lot for sales and regional managers. There are also lots of other ways to get internet access to a laptop when mobile, making a hotspot from a phone, air card connected through USB, there are devices like the Verizon Jetpack that provide a mobile hotspot without a phone also https://www.bestbuy.com/site/verizo...VuWwHESAvZ9DQF3qgGhoCxsoQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds We use these also at my company for remote access and I've used them when traveling to open new stores when the internet was not setup yet or if there are connection issues to trouble-shoot. They are easy to transfer from person to person and if there are several people in the area that need to use is they can. I've had myself and a few other managers running off a Jetpack.
