Question Are there situations were an i9-11900k would perform better than an i7-12700k?

I know that the i9 has a different design philosophy than an i7, and usually i9 are king of the hill for Intel. But considering an i7 is using 12th gen machine tooling, would this overcome the difference, and if so, is that in specific or all situations? Assuming DDR4 is being used, not DDR5.
not really - 12th gen i7 is better in both gaming and cpu heavy tasks .
on average it is around 10-12% faster in cpu demanding programs and 5-10% faster in gaming (depending on resolution and gpu) .
of course it may vary depending on specific application , but genarally speaking 12th gen i7 is simply better at everything .
