Hi, I'm trying to build a desktop that I'll use mainly for watching movies and running some applications like Photoshop and Dreamweaver etc, however I'm not so expert in hardware. So these are the components I've come up with

MSI 970 GAMING Socket AM3+ 7.1-Channel HD Audio ATX Motherboard

HyperX Fury Red Series 16GB 1866MHz DDR3 CL10 DIMM Kit of 2 Memory

Corsair CXM 500W Semi Modular 80+ Bronze Power Supply

AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz Socket AM3+ 14MB Cache Retail Boxed Processor

Sapphire R7 240 4GB DDR3 VGA DVI HDMI PCI-E Graphics Card

Are these components compatible and will they work fine for my desktop setup ???

Thanks in advance

Could you recommend a gpu and a power supply, as I'm not expert on hardware ? ideally from same site

Hi again,

is the gpu I have picked very low ??? don't get me wrong, I'm just asking cause I don't know in depth ..

The Sapphire specs ( my selection ): 4GB, DDR3 - on ebuyers where I buy is rated 9.0

The MSI specs ( your recommendation ) : 2GB, DDR3 - on ebuyers is rated 7.7

The MSI graphics card is actually stronger it just has 2GB less Vram. On a high end card that would make a huge difference but on low end cards it does not really make a difference because by the time you are using 4GB of Vram you will already be getting bad performance due to the card being a very entry level card.
