So I just installed an aftermarket CPU cooler (Cryorig H7) for my Intel i5 4690 CPU as I wasn't happy with the stock cooler that came with it and the temperatures it produced. I will admit, I had some trouble installing the cooler and had to reapply the thermal paste a couple of times. Don't worry, I cleaned it properly between each application. Anyways, due to the trouble I had mounting the cooler onto the CPU, the thermal paste may have moved around a little. I applied it in a pea size blob in the center of the CPU, but I'm worried that it might not have spread properly in the end. Anyways, the reason I'm worrying is because I'm currently getting around 40c degree idle temps so I'm a bit anxious that I might have stuffed up the thermal paste or something. It might be worth pointing out that I'm living in Australia, and it's summer right now so we are getting hot days. Can someone please let me know whether these temps are okay or if I might have stuffed up the thermal paste or something? Thanks in advance.
